Bed and Breakfast Accommodation
Welcome inside
One of our guests enjoying a cup of tea in the guests' sitting
room
| For almost 200 years, this imposing house has stood in
a walled garden at the north end of Skye. A former
manse, it has been sympathetically restored by its
owners, Roy and Sally Phelps, and, whilst decorated and
finished to a high standard, still retains the
atmosphere of a family home.
The house faces south west and enjoys magnificent
views across Loch Snizort and the Minch to the Outer
Hebrides; on clear days, we can see the ferry leaving
Harris, almost two hours sailing time away. The famous
Hebridean sunsets can be viewed in all their glory from
the guests' sitting room and sea facing bedrooms.

Some of the furnishings in the upstairs bedrooms
All the rooms are light, spacious, high-ceilinged,
furnished with antiques and provided with an interesting
and varied selection of books. The upstairs
bedrooms are large doubles with sea-facing views.
The ground floor bedroom (once the Minister's study)
overlooks the attractive garden. It is a large
room with a double and a single bed, and a private
bathroom. It can easily accommodate wheelchair
users.

The ground floor bedroom
| For over 15 years, we have entertained visitors from
all over the world and judging by the ecstatic comments
in the visitors' book, all have enjoyed their stay! We
feature in several visitor guides (through personal
recommendation). An entry in Holiday Which describes
Kilmuir House as "charming former
manse....offering B&B and spacious rooms". |
